At RESL, we are dedicated to operating responsibly and sustainably, contributing to a better future for all. Our commitment to eight United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is embedded in our core business practices. To achieve this, we adhere to the following principles:
- Precautionary Principle: We prioritise prevention and cautiously approach potential environmental and social impacts throughout all project phases. The precautionary principle means that if a decision is detrimental to environmental risk, it can be reversed.
- Risk Management: We conduct rigorous risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks, ensuring that residual risks are minimised to the lowest reasonably achievable level (ALARP) or other equivalent processes.
- Best Environmental Practice: We strive to select the most environmentally sound options for all decommissioning activities, adhering to the Best Practical Environmental Option (BPEO) or equivalent principles.
- Global Standards: We align our operations with relevant International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) standards, as required, to ensure consistent, high-quality performance and contribute to achieving our selected SDGs.
- Maximise Local Content: Designing solutions to maximise local skilled people, marine equipment, and waste disposal systems.
By integrating these principles into our operations, we aim to minimise our environmental footprint, promote social equity, and drive economic growth that benefits both present and future generations.
